Twitch and TikTok streamer Ray, known to fans as RayAsianBoy, is back in the middle of a controversy after a clip from one of his live streams started making the rounds. In the clip circulating online, Ray reacts to a dispute over a taxi fare by joking about calling ICE, and the response from viewers was swift. People are once again tagging creators and asking whether his brand partners, Adidas included, should step in.

Based on the clip being shared, the moment grew out of a petty argument. Ray reportedly felt a driver was charging too much, somewhere around 20 dollars a head, and instead of paying it he made a comment about calling immigration on the man. Fans were quick to flag the obvious contradiction, that a streamer who talks constantly about his money was scrapping over a small fare in the first place. The bigger problem for most viewers was not the money. It was making light of deportation at a moment when a lot of families are genuinely scared.

The timing matters. A recent Pew Research Center survey found that roughly 52 percent of Latinos now worry that they or someone close to them could be deported, up sharply from earlier in the year. For a large slice of Ray's audience, ICE is not an abstract punchline, it is a knock on the door. That is why the comments filled with people saying there is nothing funny here and that the fear real families carry should not be flipped into content.

Ray's brand deals are the other half of the story. He has been publicly tied to Adidas, though his sponsorship status has wobbled before, and critics argue a company that size should not stay attached to someone joking about immigration enforcement. Whether Adidas responds or treats it as noise is still an open question.
